Songtsam Tours in Tibet, a Virtuoso Asia Pacific Preferred Supplier, recently marked its three-year partnership with Land Rover at the opening ceremony of the new Songtsam Lodge Namcha Barwa. On this special occasion, Land Rover, the designated car of Songtsam Tours, handed over 10 new Land Rover Defenders to Songtsam. 

Land Rover initiated this strategic partnership with Songtsam in 2018. This began as cooperation to inspire and enable  travelers to “‘discover Yunnan-Tibet without borders.” In 2019, Songtsam and Land Rover strengthened their collaboration by creating the new 

“Yunnan-Tibet Route,” the star-rated route of Land Rover's “Discover the Borderless” project, successfully upgrading Songtsam’s Yunnan-Tibet exploration experience.

“This year is the third year of our strategic cooperation with Songtsam,”  said Liu Yiqun, Jaguar Land Rover IMSS Regional Vice President, Sales and Marketing. He further stated, “We marked the occasion of the opening of Songtsam Lodge Namcha Barwa, by presenting a fleet of 10 brand new Land Rover Defenders to our valued partner, Songtsam. The objective is to encourage and enable more travelers to explore the remote areas of Yunnan and Tibet, in greater comfort. Together with Songtsam, Land Rover has created plans  that include the development of the majestic 3000 km (approx. 1,864 miles) ancient Tea Horse Road, as well as opening up other historic routes.” The new Songtsam Lodge Namcha Barwa is one of the Songtsam properties located along the  Yunnan-Tibet route.
