Songtsam’s New Yoga Program Offers Unforgettable Experiences

Songtsam, the award-winning group of  boutique luxury Hotels, Lodges and Tours in the Tibet and Yunnan Provinces of China, have partnered with Hui Yoga, and Teacher Chen Hui (Orchid Chen), to create a one of a kind yoga experience. Together, they have used the elements of the local environment, including altitude, climate, style, and the natural and cultural landscapes where the Songtsam hotels are located, to design curated Songtsam yoga courses for in-house guests. The unique new program was created to take advantage of the spectacular natural settings surrounding the Songtsam properties to provide an unforgettable physical and mental experience for the guests so each person can “open their secret door”.

 

Songtsam Hotels' exclusive yoga courses will be launched at the end of November 2021. The courses are based on asanas (postures), breathing, and meditation, and are presented in two aspects: Exclusive Courses and Special Courses. The new yoga experiences are available for free for anyone staying at Songtsam Hotels. Guests can choose to do a group class or free practice and select from any of the different courses based on the kind of experience that they are looking for. Songtsam and Hui Yoga’s hotel yoga course will be virtual for all in-house guests, and will be delivered online by the Yoga Instructor to the student. 

 

Exclusive Courses in Spectacular Settings

Every area where a Songtsam Hotel is located has unique landscapes and energy fields. These new exclusive yoga courses were specially designed for the following Songtsam locations: Songtsam Lodge Meili, Songtsam Lodge Laigu, Songtsam Lodge Lijiang, Songtsam Lodge Tacheng and Songtsam Lodge Bome. The exclusive courses will be complimentary for in-house guests. Guests staying in Meili, Laigu, or Lijiang will have the opportunity to participate in the following exclusive courses.

Snow Mountain Meditation - offered in Meili, Shanju location
Meditate in front of stunning snow mountain scenery.

Holy Land Breath - offered in Laigu, Shanju location
Breathe in front of superb glacial scenery.

Vitality Yoga - offered in Lijiang, Tacheng, Bome Mountain Residence location
Stretch in front of gorgeous mountain range scenery.

 

Special Courses

Leg Soothing Yoga (30 minutes)
Yoga for the legs, so that tired heavy legs release tension and regain vitality. Follow Teacher Chen Hui in the course, flexible ankles and hips, relax the legs in asanas, stretch the legs, and promote blood circulation in the legs.

Energy Restoration Yoga (30 minutes)
In the course, the energy of the body is coordinated with the asanas and breathing, slowly gathering, ascending, and inwardly guarding; coupled with the vitality of the energy mudra, you will harvest full energy after one class.

Suho Yoga Breath (30 minutes)
Breathing method helps to balance the internal breathing channels. This will allow one to breathe more smoothly and repair, heal, and eliminate body tension and fatigue. 

Mindfulness Yoga Meditation (30 minutes)
Mindfulness awareness has lasting effects. In the course, it is accomplished by watching the start and end of every action vigilantly; the movement of the body; the ups and downs of breathing; the light and dark of the line of sight. After practicing, feel the body become calm and bright; consciousness, calm and clear; breathing, smooth and steady. 


Find Balance and The True Self Through Yoga

Yoga and movement practices play an important role in Tibetan culture and theology. It is believed that Yoga is a gradual deepening of the inner journey, and finding the true self is the direction of the journey. Three practice methods are given in the "Yoga Sutra": asanas, breathing control methods and meditation. By practicing step by step, one can get deep into his/her innermost beings. It is also believed that the contraction, stretching and squeezing of the body is like a massage for the anatomy, expelling toxins and impurities out of the body tissues, making the body clean and light. Yoga is an exercise that makes the muscular system of all parts of the human body balanced, so that the external performance of the body is more stable. All of these factors will improve health and make the body a powerful support for the inner journey.
